Basic principles WESR Functions

A work function is a group of tasks needed to fulfil a specific purpose during a limited time. A function is always connected to a physical person.

There are two essential functions which shall always be nominated for a work activity: The Person in Control of Electrical Installation (PCEI) and the Person in Control of Work Activity (PCWA). The PCEI assures that the affected part of the installation is safe to work at. The PCWA assures that the work activity can be performed in a safe way.

It is essential that the two functions take full responsibility for the safety from their own perspective and have a solid cooperation with safe communication.

Note that one person can have several functions at the same time.

Everyone involved in work activities is expected to contribute to the measures needed to achieve a safe workplace.
