Switching Schedule

Normally for HV work, formal written details of disconnections and earthing, where appropriate, should be used to avoid misunderstandings.

When re-energising after work all earthing and safety equipment and/or devices at the work location shall be removed. Starting from the work location and progressing outwards, the earthing equipment and/or devices that were applied to the electrical installation shall be removed and all the locks or other devices, which were used to prevent reconnection shall also be removed. All signs used for the work activity shall be removed.

A switching Schedule sequentially specifies which switchings and safety measures that will be taken to achieve safety from the system and for restoring the installation to normal operation.

The purpose is to provide a written sequence for planning and executing the necessary switchings and safety measures.

It is issued by the PCEI.

Before a switching schedule is issued, it shall be approved and signed by a second person with the relevant competence, in accordance with the four-eye principle.
