PCWA is responsible for performing RISK-W at the work location before carrying out any safety precautions or starting any work activity.
RISK-W is performed to determine if work can be carried out with the safety measures that have been planned and with the proposed working procedure, and to establish if any local changes will affect the work.
PCWA shall discuss any changes found in the RISK-W with PCEI before proceeding.
PCWA shall always set the safety distance and determine whether further supplementary safety measures need to be taken.
RISK-W shall also account for adjacent parts of the installation that are or may be energized.
A review of RISK-W shall always be carried out together with the workers in the work team.
PCWA shall make sure that everyone has understood the risks involved and the work boundaries.
PCWA shall abort the work if sufficient safety measures cannot be taken or new risks that cannot be handled has emerged.
