Basic principles Operational procedures

Operational procedures are activities which can be carried out in the electrical installation without obvious risk of electrical hazard, with the use of appropriate tools and equipment designed to be used without risks so far as is reasonably practical. This includes e.g. switchings, measurements, and tests.

PREI or nominated deputy shall determine what work that can be performed as an operational procedure and what tools should be used for each electrical installation.

Before starting any operational procedures, a risk management shall be carried out. If the operating procedure cannot be carried out in a safe way, the activities shall be planned and carried out according to one of the working procedures.

Operational procedures shall be carried out in agreement with PCEI. PCEI shall be informed when those agreed operational procedures have been completed.
