Switching Assistant

(Switching assistant)

A Switching Assistant is a person who carries out switchings and safety measures on order by the PCEI or Delegated PCEI. The person acts as an extended arm of the PCEI or Delegated PCEI, similar to perform the switchings by remote control.

Switching Assistant duties:

Prepare

  • Perform risk management before switching
  • Check and verify, where applicable, the received switching schedule

Perform

  • Perform orders given by the PCEI or Delegated PCEI
  • Abort the activity if something is not in accordance with the plan or expectations, and consult the PCEI or Delegated PCEI

Confirm

  • Confirm executed switching or safety measure to the PCEI or Delegated PCEI

Competence criteria

To be nominated as a Switching Assistant, the person shall be Skilled and fulfil function specific competence requirements.
