All maintenance procedures to be carried out shall be approved by PCEI.
When maintenance work is carried out on an electrical installation:
- the part of the installation concerned shall be clearly defined;
- the person in charge of the maintenance work shall be nominated. This person is the PCWA.
Personnel who have to carry out the work shall be adequately instructed or skilled i.e. they shall be competent for the task to be undertaken. They shall be equipped with and they shall use appropriate tools, measuring and testing devices and PPE that shall be maintained in a good condition.
All necessary safety measures shall be taken including where necessary precautions to prevent danger to other persons and protection of livestock and property.
